where? well that's the first question, now if you didn't know where it was you now do. There are a  few "stans" out there beyond India and Pakistan. And beyond the pale is Uzbekistan's policy of involuntary sterilisation of young women. It is hardly believable that women can be treated this way as "a policy", then for a government statement to say their policy is advanced and a model for others to follow is infuriating. Avaaz where are you on this? Do click on the link, it is harrowing, but you need to know.

    This is mental.

Its strange how developing countries feel the need to run a communist model, do they think they will develop faster? I doubt it, as usual it comes down to power and money. It must be easier to stay in power and acrue more wealth as a commy leader.

But the “democratic” nations dont seem that against communism otherwise we wouldnt trade with China. Perhaps China’s leaders will swap over to democracy once they are the worlds greatest super power?

I have posted this link on the Avaaz Facebook page! Hopefully they make it a campaign.

Countries have a right to choose what means they are ruled by, and increasingly through social sites and the mighty internet, the countries people make that choice. Can’t see China ever being democratic, it’s trading power would be weakened as i fear democratic forces would mean the break up of the present China. Communism doesn’t work, capitalism doesn’t work but it’s the best at present when linked to democracy.
But any system should uphold it’s citizens human rights, non democratic systems that rule by fear can more easily abuse them. I believe NATO is using Uzbekistan’s border with Afganistan for supply purposes……so I fear only talk from our politicians!
Good move on Avaaz and facebook, tks
