I bought a photograph slide to digital picture converter from one of my fav shops, Maplin, never got round to using it and took it on holiday to Lochaline as you always have rainy days up there that promote indoor tasks. Why all the butterflies? well I snapped a small tortoiseshell today¬† and I thought why just one pic stick in some more. One Osprey adult and one juv still around today the 19/8/12, the adult was on sentinel position and a juv arrived to a perch near the eyrie within about 15 minutes calling/crying for food. The adult preened, seemingly impervious to the constant demands, I could hear the calls due to the air stillness and the direction of what wind there was. In the Scottish news you can hardly not hear of this old women's murder in her own home in a cottage near Forteviot from the ongoing trial. I happen to pass the very property where this took place and it brings it home to you that murder can and does happen near to you. Our fortnights slot in Lochaline's¬† normal holiday abode was occupied by mainly the three stalwarts (of this fortnight) myself, my wife and the cook we bring (my wife's cousin), Derek and Moira made a second short visit for the first 3/4 days as the time spent up there can just be called "chill out" and we all need that.
