Apr 20th by Ian under Bird Watching

20th April and at last the Osprey pair are settled, even yesterday the female was not sitting and was frequently absent as was the male, the weather is dry but windy so not the best for fishing. The fish clasped in these domestic pictures is again a pike as I saw it's tail as the male manoeuvred in the wind. I spent most of yesterday and today on marsh harrier nest location and think I have a location but it needs more observation work, the previous "late" location last year does not look like a positive site so far, I have seen a female harrier hunting but no sign of a pair interacting or carrying sticks to a nest site. I have seen another lone swallow and heard a willow warbler (in Glenearn Tescos!) Sunshine today (17 degrees C) brought out the butterflies small and large whites with peacocks adding colour.
